Some people keep lots of plants in their house. They add colour and a sense of comfort but too many plants cause clutter like everything else. Besides taking up valuable space, plants collect more dust than does furniture because they don’t get cleaned as frequently and their growth is often kept unchecked. Limit the number of healthy plants to one or two per area. Give the rest to your friends to plant-sit.
Fix any water leaks. Buyers almost never forget a leak when they see one.
Tobacco Smell: wash your walls. You may have to repeat the procedure several times.
Curb Appeal: greet your buyers with a ‘welcome’ doormat.
Mistake #6: Expecting the buyers to use their imaginations to see past your clutter. That’s a no-no. When a house is overflowing with everyday stuff it looks small and cramped. Remember, people buy space in real estate and there does not appear to be a lot of space in a cluttered house.
